In honor of Mother’s Day, we will host our 2nd Annual Showers of Kindness, a shared partnership between St. John the Baptist DHS and Good Samaritan Hospital and Sun River Health Centers – Wyandanch and Amityville. we will host our 2nd Annual “Showers of Kindness”. “Showers of Kindness” is a collection of new baby items to be donated to the families served by Sun River Health Centers in Wyandanch and Amityville. The moms they serve are often at the lower end of the economic spectrum and are in dire need of items for their newborns and toddlers.
Beginning April 25th through May 4th,we will be collecting these items for the babies and their mom. We invite members of the Long Island community to join us in collecting these items for the moms and babies in many of our Long Island communities.
Suggested items include: Baby Hair Conditioner, Baby Laundry Detergent, Baby wipes, Bath toys, Baby Lotion, Shampoo, Body Wash for bath time, Bibs, Burp cloths, Bottles (no glass please), Bottle brushes, Diaper Cream, Diapers, all sizes, Hats, Hooded Towels, Onesies, all sizes, Pacifiers, Receiving blankets, Socks (3–6 months), Teething toys, Wash Cloths. All items must be new and in original packaging. No formula please. Please don’t forget the moms, Fuzzy Socks – all sizes, Chapstick, Hand lotion.
Students are asked to bring in any donations before school on Tuesday, May 3rd and Wednesday, May 4th. All other donations may be dropped off at the school’s front lobby from the hours of 8 am – 2:00 pm.
