This program of study empowers students to step into the role of an engineer, adopt a problem-solving mindset, and make the leap from dreamers to doers. The course activities not only build knowledge and skills in engineering, but also empower students to develop essential skills such as problem solving, critical and creative thinking, communication, collaboration, and perseverance.

Volunteer Services at Good Samaritan Hospital and St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School have entered into a partnership in an effort to introduce students to the varied careers associated with healthcare. This opportunity is offered as an after-school elective to upperclassmen and extends over the course of two semesters. The first course consists of a series of lectures given by Good Samaritan Hospital’s clinical and non-clinical management level employees and students write reflections on each lecture. The second course includes students shadowing professionals from the various fields to experience what their profession involves on a daily basis. Students receive educational credit for successful completion of these courses.
