St. John the Baptist is requiring that any student athlete who has tested positive for COVID-19 will need a medical clearance for their heart and lungs. The clearance will need to be from a pediatrician, primary care physician, or a cardiologist.
Documentation must be given to the Health Office or the Athletic Trainer after the examination. At this time, there is no official form for this evaluation. The documentation should state that your child was evaluated and is cleared for unrestricted physical activity. If any diagnosis is made from the examination, any necessary restrictions implemented by the physician should be included on the note.
For the spring season beginning on April 17th, any student athlete who had COVID-19 will need the clearance completed before tryouts.
If you have any questions, please contact our Athletic Trainer, Theresa Knips at knips@sjbdhs.org or the Health Office.
